The Danaher Business System Specialist will work in close partnership with the Site DBSL, Operations to drive continuous improvement in Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain utilizing the Danaher Business System (DBS) and working with Operations Leaders to identify improvement opportunities and implement countermeasures to drive reduction in waste, cost, on time delivery, and drive lean manufacturing processes.
This position reports to the Director of DBS, Operations located in Coralville, IA and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Partner with functional leaders to identify, prioritize, and select improvement priorities needed to achieve performance objectives.
- Leverage and continuously improve the Kaizen Funnel Process to prioritize, schedule, resource, plan, and drive 80%+ sustainment of Kaizen and PSP events.
- Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity) that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging DBS tools and skillfully facilitating workshops, trainings, and Kaizen events.
- Collaborate with other DBS leaders to ensure alignment of cross-functional processes involving Operations.
- Support DBS skills development across different levels of the organization.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations or supply chain.
- Ability to build cross functional relationships and lead through influence to increase the usage of DBS/continuous improvement tools to achieve functional targets.
- Experience with continuous improvement, or operational excellence fundamentals with the ability to drive change and deliver results.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with business partners across all levels of the organization to include training and presentation.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel occasionally per business needs.
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25lbs
- Must be able to stand, walk and perform tasks on the manufacturing/laboratory floor for extended periods as needed.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Hands-on experience leading deployment of DBS/Lean tools: Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement, 5S, Problem Solving Process, Visual Management/Daily Management, or Visual Project Management preferred
- Certified Practitioner (CP) in one or more Lean tools preferred.
