Junior Business Analyst @ CGI

Position Description:The ideal candidate for this position is a problem solver. As a Business Analyst, you will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to solve organizational information challenges and will use your critical thinking skills to identify client requirements and translate those into detailed instructions for your development team to execute. The ideal Business Analyst also has strong writing and communication skills,?ability to learn technical concepts,?and is able to build relationships with both their team members and clients.???This position is located in our Lafayette, LA or Knoxville, TN office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.CGI is unable to sponsor international hires for this position. US Citizenship requiredYour future duties and responsibilities:A Business Analyst works as bridge between clients and developers to understand business needs and application requirements and translate them into actionable tasks for developers to deliver. Business Analysts are responsible for helping the client to define the problem they are trying to solve and ensuring the delivered software solves the problem. Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Gather, develop, document, and validate, business, functional and technical requirements.Interact with client during JAD sessions.Interact with advanced busines analysts and solution developers to communicate and validate requirements.Perform functional and integrated testing.Prepare and maintain project documentation and artifacts including analysis,reports and user documentation.Works with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements.Assists all phases of software systems programming applications.Evaluates new and existing software products.Author and prepare meeting minutes to be distributed to a variety of audiencesAuthor user stories, test scripts, and other Agile deliverables
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:Bachelor's degree in a business related field or information systems management preferred Minimum 1 years work experience as a business analystKnowledge of the full software development lifecycle Strong analytical and writing skills Excellent communication skillsAbility to work effectively within a team environment under tight timelines? Ability to multi task and support multiple projects at onceExperience working with JIRA and ConfluenceDesired qualifications/non essential skills required:Experience authoring SQL queries will strongly benefit a candidate.Skills:AgileAnalytical ThinkingCommunicationFunctional testingSQL
