Do Work That Matters:
 

CommBank’s Market Operations business is looking for an Associate to join our OTC Regulatory Reconciliations and Reporting Operations team. This team is designed to provide extensive support for our Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) clients.

OTC Regulatory Operations team is responsible for performing a number of controls and processes relating to OTC Derivatives Trade Reporting, Portfolio Reconciliations, Portfolio Lifecycle Management and other exception controls and reconciliations, ensuring multiple jurisdictional regulatory obligations are met or exceptions escalated appropriately in accordance with our operational risk profile.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of Trade Reporting, Reconciliations and associated controls across OTC derivatives, FX and Commodities. You will help grow and maintain our client base and work across initiatives and projects to drive improvement opportunities across the business.

The role requires strong execution capability, close attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-volume workflows within strict regulatory timeframes. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to other controls and processes, helping ensure CBA’s compliance with global regulatory obligations.

You will partner with and collaborate with Front Office, Technology, Compliance, Legal and various stakeholders across the group to improve our risk controls within our operational environment whilst maintaining a first class service and healthy working relationship.

On any given day you will:

  • You will work across key OTC processes including Trade Reporting, Portfolio Reconciliations, Portfolio Lifecycle Management and Reconciliation controls while contributing to initiatives that strengthen operational efficiency and risk management.
  • Execute daily trade reporting and reconciliations across multiple regulatory jurisdictions
  • Monitor, investigate and resolve trade ingestion and reporting exceptions
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of reporting outputs
  • Perform root cause analysis and escalate issues in line with control frameworks
  • Maintain strong risk awareness, ensuring all activities are supported by appropriate audit trails
  • Analyse transaction and reconciliation data to support daily operations and workflow performance
  • Management of various internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide recommendations and ownership in the implementation of procedural workflow and business changes in light of business growth

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

Experience within global markets environment and will have some awareness and/or knowledge of global markets products and technology with a focus on derivative products and the Murex system. You will have developed skills across data analytics, using data to enhance decisions, continuous improvement projects and solutions for our stakeholders and clients.

You will also have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of processing OTC Derivatives and financial markets products and a thorough understanding of related risks
  • Prior experience and understanding of financial markets business flows, reconciliations and exceptions management.
  • Experience in trade reporting, reconciliations or middle office functions including exception management, investigation, and data analysis
  • Proven ability to deliver in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • AFMA Accreditation advantageous
