Description
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of electrical design drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAAD platforms.
- Support the engineering team with load calculations, circuiting, and equipment layouts under the guidance of a senior engineer.
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and field teams to ensure design intent aligns with installation feasibility.
- Perform site visits to gather data, verify existing conditions, and assist with field documentation.
- Maintain and organize project drawing sets, redlines, and revision logs.
- Participate in the development of lighting, power, and control system plans for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
- Assist with material take-offs, panel schedules, and coordination with other trades.
- Support quality assurance and compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, local jurisdictions).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Coursework or experience in Computer-Aided Architectural Design (CAAD), AutoCAD, or Revit required.
- Strong understanding of basic electrical principles and systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration.
- Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Internship or project experience in electrical design, building systems, or construction.
- Familiarity with Revit MEP, Bluebeam, or BIM workflows.
- Understanding of construction documentation and design-build project processes.
