Job Description

Job summary:

Developing skills to perform diversified tasks necessary in the preparation, assembly, and quality of various products in accordance with design specifications, procedures, and customer requirements.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:  

Developing skills to carry out the following:-

  • Operate machinery including knife skive, saw, notching machine and other machinery in accordance with processes and procedures.

  • Operate manual, semi-automated and automated machinery according in accordance with processes and procedures.

  • Performs other operations such as spring cutting, welding, silicon filling and other tasks as required in accordance with the defined processes and procedures.

  • Works from drawings, sketches, and specifications in completing various machinery and manual operations.

  • Performs manual deburring of various parts prior to the final quality check.

  • Completes and maintains records of work performed, SAP entry (part counts, first piece inspection & others) for every job.

  • Maintains work area in a safe, clean, and organised manner.  This includes conforming to ISO9001 quality standards and Health & Safety at Work Act requirements (1974).

  • Works as an active member of the team and performing duties as assigned.  Participates in job rotation and training activities to ensure the success of the team.  Also includes responsibility for training other team members of the team where applicable.

  • Participates in Lean / Six Sigma activities and other process improvement activities as required.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications: 

  • High School Diploma/Secondary School Qualifications.

Skills and Experience: 

Required:

  • Experience of working within a Manufacturing environment

  • Ability to work on small assemblies with a high degree of dexterity

  • Basic mechanical aptitude.

  • Must exhibit proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings, assembly procedures, bills of materials and routing

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Ability to manage workload and be self-directed

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise workload according to order requirements

  • Basic problem-solving abilities
