Job Description
The Facilities Support and General Maintenance Attendant plays a vital role in supporting operational efficiency and maintaining the integrity of our facilities. This position is responsible for a range of duties including janitorial services and building maintenance. The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-conscious professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and contributes to the overall functionality and cleanliness of our workplace.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilities Maintenance & Support
Maintain cleanliness and organization of facility areas including washrooms, kitchenettes, storage, mechanical rooms, and common spaces.
Deliver materials and supplies to internal departments as required
Monitor and replenish office and maintenance supplies
Perform seasonal tasks such as snow and ice removal from walkways and equipment
Clean company vehicles
Conduct janitorial duties including urinal and toilet cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and surface cleaning in the warehouse, garage and office areas
Interior and exterior window cleaning
Steam cleaning of carpets and floor buffing/waxing
Office painting
Support the Facilities Coordinator with general building maintenance tasks such as minor electrical work, garage floor cleaning, drain maintenance and lighting replacements
Document maintenance activities and report issues to Manager, Corporate Services
General Support
Provide cross-functional support to various departments as needed
Execute additional duties as assigned to ensure operational continuity and facility upkeep
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs
Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks
Professionalism, strong work ethic, confidentiality and Human Relations.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc.)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years relevant experience in facility support or maintenance operations
Valid Class G driver’s license with good driving record
Valid forklift license
Union:
Compensation Package: Hourly rate between $30.32 - $40.75, as per our collective agreement with Power Worker's Union (PWU) + Benefits + OMERS Pension Plan
The above range reflects the reasonable estimate for the position at the time of posting. Within the range, hiring compensation will be determined based on relevant qualifications, experience, skillset, education/ training, and other organizational needs.
