Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Technician works only under onsite supervision of a PT or PTA. Perform specific patient treatments as directed by the therapist, Prepare the patient and/or treatment area for treatment, and responsible for maintaining the physical order of the department. Will assist with clerical duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual’s job. He/She may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific function may change from time to time.
- Carries out the principles of positive customer relations.
- Renders safe, appropriate treatment under the on-site supervision of a PT/PTA according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Transfers and positions patients appropriately.
- Reports any change in condition or adverse reaction of the patients to the therapist.
- Maintains physical order of the department.
- Cleans equipment following each patient use and processes trash and linen appropriately.
- Assists with the clerical duties as needed
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of on the job training, including initial and annual competency training/demonstration.
- This includes successful completion and maintenance of BLS certification.
