Job Description

Physician shall provide all appropriate general Internal Medicine or Family care within the scope of the physician's specialty and license, including but not limited to:

  • Maintain the standard of care for the delivery of primary care medicine services:
  • Meet all DNV and other regulatory requirements;
  • Obtain complete history and record findings in a systematic format;
  • Perform complete physical assessments;
  • Order, perform and interpret routine laboratory tests;
  • Order medications, referrals and or medical devices as needed;
  • Ensure that appropriate preventative medicine testing is conducted on a routine basis;
  • Participate with all quality improvement and assurance initiatives;
  • Conduct appropriate follow up to ensure appropriate levels of patient care;
  • Serve as practice site administrator during emergencies.
  • Provide night and weekend call/triage coverage.
  • Market the practice through direct physician to physician communication, community education, community service or other appropriate channels;
  • Maintain and implement standards for health promotion and health maintenance;
  • Follow current state, federal and local laws governing the delivery of care;
  • Provide open and timely communication with patients, families and their significant others;
  • Ensure that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times;
  • Accept and care as applicable for indigent and clinic patients in a manner consistent with compassionate and ethical patient care.
  • Accept all managed care plans accepted by Employer;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current coding guidelines and requirements and maintain an error rate within hospital guidelines (currently 5% or less);
  • Complete required reporting in a timely manner, such as medical records.
  • If conducting hospital rounds, ensure accurate and timely billing for hospital services;
  • Submit all bills for outpatient and inpatient work in a timely manner to the Department of Physician Practice Management Support;
  • Use and endorse the use of all of Hospital's automated systems, as appropriate;
  • Physician shall participate in community education and scientific programs as may be delegated or assigned to the Physician by Chairperson/ leadership and/or the Hospital’s President.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Chairperson/Chief Medical Officer or CEO.
