Our Consulting Engineers are an integral part of the Customer Experience (CX) team delivering Lifecycle Services to our customers! We combine the power of Cisco Analytics and Knowledge with the outstanding technical expertise and consulting (that's you) to drive value, innovation, and adoption in our customer's network. We help them to reduce risk, drive innovation, and enhance their network to meet business objectives. We are the customer's trusted advisor and guide, helping the customer understand their network, reduce risks, and take advantage of the technology. We work closely with Cisco Engineering to advocate for innovation for our customer and as a liaison, share what is coming with our customers to help them be the groundbreakers of technology.

Your Impact
 

This role requires you to be self-motivated, flexible and to be able to balance multiple projects at the same time. As a Consulting Engineer, you will help drive the effort to transform our current and future architecture for our customers. In addition to day-to-day customer activities, training and mentoring other engineers will be required. Bring your creative solutions and be an asset to our team!

Responsibilities:

• Drive customer value, adoption, and renewals through proactive cross-functional collaboration to ensure a unified experience throughout the customer lifecycle.

• Provide expert deployment and implementation support for Cisco solutions, utilizing technical expertise, AI, and automation to optimize performance and customer satisfaction.

• Act as a primary point of contact for proactive problem resolution while delivering technical guidance that empowers customers and fosters self-sufficiency.

• Produce high-quality, technically sound customer-facing documentation that is clearly articulated and strictly aligned with established CX standards.

• Leverage AI and automation to enhance delivery efficiency and personal productivity, while contributing to the development of digital assets and knowledge-sharing initiatives that refine Cisco’s delivery methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Networking, IT, or Engineering, complemented by at least one year of professional experience in the technical consulting, deployment, integration, or troubleshooting of Packet Core networks.

• Strong foundational understanding of end-to-end mobility architectures, specifically focusing on 4G and 5G Mobile Packet Core (LTE and 5GC), virtualized applications (VNFs/CNFs), and 5G Core components like SMF, UPF, AMF, and PCF, including their associated call flows.

• Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as Redhat OpenStack and Redhat OpenShift, alongside a solid grasp of networking fundamentals, including routing protocols like ISIS, OSPF, and BGP, as well as multicast and the OSI model.

• Demonstrated experience in AI and automation development using Python, Linux, shell programming, and testing frameworks, combined with hands-on knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes and major cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate technology strategy and architecture approaches to diverse audiences, including technical teams, executive leadership, and customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to influence, motivate and work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment to drive outcomes based plans, programs and execution.

• Knowledge of Cisco 4G/5G Packet Core solutions

• Knowledge of Cisco products like ASR55K, StarOS, VPC-DI, Ultra-M, CVIM, CNDP, CPS, UCS, Nexus, Catalyst

• Networking Certifications like CCNA, CKA, RHOSP, RHOCP etc.

• Certifications in AI/ML/Agents/MCP
