The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), reporting to the Director Dining Nutrition Services, will provide assistance to the nutrition team within Washington University Dining Services. The RDN will be an active member on the dining services team in order to promote and provide nutrition education and counseling as well as programming throughout the dining program.The RDN will work directly with students with various dietary and nutrition needs including, but not limited to, lifestyle and religious preferences as well as food allergies and sports performance needsJob Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide one on one nutrition consultations to students including scheduling consultations, implementing MNT sessions, documenting the visit and appropriately utilizing ADIME to update the student’s medical chart in a timely manner, providing communication to referring provider as appropriate, and scheduling follow-up appointments as necessary.
- Participate in nutrition-related educational programming and/or development (i.e. cooking classes, wellbeing events, sport team talks, or education content) that is planned throughout the academic year.
- Participate in regular monitoring and evaluating the dining program to ensure understanding of offerings to meet student needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned such as needs that arise during the beginning and end of the semesters related to menu reviews, move-in, orientation, special events, and moonlight breakfast.

Required Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support Certification or obtains certification within one month of employment. Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.
- Registered Dietitian license from the state of Missouri and/or Illinois depending on work location(s).
Note: Starting in 2024, the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) will require a minimum of a master’s degree to sit for the registration exam which is needed to receive a Registered Dietitian License.
