Senior Engineer- Product Stewardship

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s PSSCOE team is looking for highly motivated individual who is passionate about environmental and has strong inclination towards Sustanability domain. The Engineer will be providing technical and tactical support for compliance (chemical regulations) assessment executon for Eaton’s broad portfolio of GEIS  products. This work will help business across the enterprises solve regulations issue, support new & existing products through product compliance and create sustainability value propositions to gain additional business opportunities.    

"•    Lead and manage the end‑to‑end portfolio of product compliance assessments and executing product compliance assessment across global regulations like RoHS, REACH, ODS, POC, CP-65, TSCA etc for GEIS North America product portfolio.
•    Collaborate with cross functional teams such as SCM, Engineering, Sales, plant and quality team to perform various compliance related activities like supplier campaign, supplier meeting (ET timezone overlap), review declaration, portfolio analysis and gap assessments etc. and maintain in the system.
•    Define compliance assessment roadmap , project plans and monitors progress and achievements on projects. Provide regular reports on development and support activities
•    Provides expert resolution of issues and monitors integration of work within internal systems like SAP, EHSM, JIRA etc.
•    Coordinate with 3rd party and labs to conduct compliance related testing.
•    Review progress and guide a team of junior engineers and provide technical assistance to provide both local product development and engineering services to the Global engineering needs in the field of compliance and DfE 
•    Champions continuous process improvements to support the Eaton Business System and CI.
•    Prepare review updates & conduct cross‑functional reviews with Global PSSCoE, Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal, Quality, and Product teams
•    Drive resolution of non responsve supplier / non‑compliance issues and support corrective actions through technical inputs through specification screening and alternative evalauation 
•    Improve and standardize compliance processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters' degree in Environmental science or Chemical/Mechanical/ Electronics /Electricals engineering
Bachelor’s with 5-8 years’ experience or  Masters with 3-6 years’ of progressive experience in the areas of Material compliance/ Sustanability domain, Product or technology development for Industrial, Electrical/Electronics or Chemical products or process with  a proven track record of solving critical business problems and providing technical solutions

Skills:

"• Exceptionally strong technical knowledge in the field of compliance / product Stewardship 
• Knowledge on REACH, RoHS, Prop65, TSCA, POP, ODS  and other applicable regulations and it's impact on product and business
• Knowledge on material grades, surface coating and manufacturing processes of Electrical & Electronics Products.
• Working knowledge of compliance platforms like SAP/EHSM, Enovia etc. to deliver compliance request.
• Ability to analyse regulations & interprete technical data that can be effectively communicated to product and technology teams  
• Experience collaborating with local / global suppliers for Hardware/Software procurement, building test lab setups etc.
• Understanding of tools and methodologies for Eco-design aspects of products, process and technology will be added advantages
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
• Experience in leading projects with multiple stakeholders in matrix organization and strong project management experience is required
• Abreast of upcoming environmental regulations, trends, and methodologies
• Good judgment, time management, and decision-making skills
• Posses digital skills - advanced excel, Macro etc
• Strong analytical skills in developing & deploying Sustainability tools and methodologies 
• Knowledge on LCA, EcoDesign concepts, Circular economy is added advantage
