Position Purpose
- The Image Management Specialist is responsible for management of radiology images and/or records throughout the region as related to patients’ exams in the imaging department(s). Process and provide customer service with imaging releases, importation, media requests and other related activities.
What you will do
Provides customer service to patients, internal and external providers, radiologists, and imaging colleagues throughout the region. Create images on CD and digitize analog images into PACS. Reviews images for technical quality and appropriate identification. Pushes images through interfaces to facilities verifying proper documentation, pulls prior imaging from outside facilities for comparisons, second reads, etc. with proper documentation, Prepares legal requests coming into the department(s) for imaging and accompanying records Answers phone calls and email/online inquiries Responsible for monitoring and maintaining critical results reporting. Serves as radiology physician and departmental liaison for interpretation and addendum requests May be required to schedule or reschedule patient exams in EPIC if assigned Provide data or reports to Regional Business Coordinator for presentations Assist Breast Imaging Coordinators and Lung Screening Coordinators with result letters, follow up, etc. as assigned Attend assigned meetings for departments and/or region Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma. Prior experience in an imaging department preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology.
