The role  

Please note, we are only accepting applicants from the provinces of Ontario and Québec for this role. For Québec-based candidates, fluency in English is necessary because the position entails collaboration with teams based in the rest of Americas and occasionally in Europe.

The Lead Consultant – PXM acts as a senior expert, strategic leader, and subject matter authority within the PXM practice.

This role is responsible for defining, implementing, and evolving PXM strategies for clients, while actively contributing to the growth, structure, and quality of the PXM practice at Valtech.

It is distinguished by a high level of autonomy, strategic accountability, team leadership, and commercial impact, going beyond the scope of a Senior Consultant.

Role responsibilities

Strategic Advisory & Client Engagement

  • Analyze client business challenges related to product information management and omnichannel product experience.
  • Define and recommend comprehensive PXM strategies, including roadmaps, operating models, and transformation plans.
  • Advise clients on optimizing business processes, product data governance, and product lifecycle management.
  • Lead strategic discovery phases and ensure stakeholder alignment, including executive-level stakeholders.
  • Ensure recommendations and deliverables align with business objectives and deliver measurable value.
  • Drive and support the successful implementation of PIM solutions.

Engagement Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Design and oversee complex PXM solutions integrating PIM, DAM, PLM, eCommerce, and related systems.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, eCommerce consultants, and technical experts to ensure alignment between business needs and technical implementation.
  • Manage the structure, prioritization, and evolution of strategic backlogs.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure performance, outcomes, and ROI.
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and compliance of deliverables aligned with Valtech standards.
  • Act as both platform expert and project lead to deliver high-quality implementations.

Platform Adoption & Change Management

  • Lead PIM platform adoption strategies, including planning, training, and change management initiatives.
  • Define and implement governance frameworks, processes, and best practices to ensure sustainable platform usage.
  • Support client teams in achieving operational autonomy.

Platform Expertise & Practice Leadership

  • Develop and maintain deep expertise in PIM platforms such as Inriver, Akeneo, and Salsify.
  • Act as a PXM subject matter expert internally, contributing to knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Contribute to the evolution of PXM offerings, methodologies, and tools.
  • Maintain relevant certifications within the PXM ecosystem.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Mentor and support consultants across junior, intermediate, and senior levels.
  • Provide functional oversight to teams across client engagements.
  • Contribute to competency development, mentorship programs, and performance growth.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and accountability.

Business Development & Practice Growth

  • Identify and qualify opportunities for commerce and digital transformation services.
  • Actively support the sales cycle (scoping, solutioning, costing, and client presentations) in collaboration with Account and Sales Directors.
  • Contribute to the growth and strategy of the Commerce & Digital practice.
  • Support the positioning and visibility of PXM expertise in the market.

 

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: 

  • Proven experience in PXM / PIM consulting, including strategy definition and implementation.
  • Strong expertise in product data management, product lifecycle, and omnichannel experience.
  • Experience working with PIM platforms such as Inriver, Akeneo, Salsify, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery phases and engage executive stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering complex, multi-system solutions (PIM, DAM, PLM, eCommerce).
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and operating models.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and client engagements.
  • Ability to define and track KPIs and ROI-driven outcomes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in client-facing environments.

Nice to have qualifications  

  • Experience with digital transformation programs in commerce or product data environments.
  • Familiarity with integration architectures and enterprise ecosystems.
  • Experience contributing to sales cycles, proposals, and solutioning.
  • Certifications in PIM platforms or relevant technologies.
  • Experience working in consulting or agency environments.
  • Exposure to change management methodologies and organizational transformation

The benefits  

This is a Full time position based in Canada. The offered salary range is $100,000 - $150,000 CAD annually, depending on experience and location. 

Valtech offers a comprehensive benefits package effective after three months of continuous service:

  • A comprehensive insurance plan, where you can choose the module that best suits your needs—Gold, Silver, or Bronze. The employer may contribute up to 80% of your coverage depending on the selected module. This plan includes short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Dialogue via Sun Life provides virtual healthcare services, allowing you to consult with a healthcare professional for emergencies, prescription renewals, and more. You also have access to the Employee and Family Assistance Program, as well as a complete mental health support program.
  • A $500 Personal Spending Account, which can be used for healthcare reimbursements, gym memberships, public transit passes, office supplies, or contributions to your RRSP through Valtech.
  • A retirement plan where Valtech will match 100% of your RRSP contributions through a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), up to a maximum of 4%. You can start contributing to your RRSP immediately, and to the DPSP after 3 months. The vesting of the DPSP will be after a 24 months of service. 
  • Access to a flexible vacation under Valtech's policy to support your work-life balance, with 5 days available during your probation period and a prorated amount calculated for the remainder of the year.
  • Personal Technology Reimbursement – $30/month for every employee-offered on day 1. 
  • We close during the winter holidays and offer flexible scheduling throughout the year, so you can enjoy those sunny Friday afternoons—provided your weekly hours are completed.
