Job Description
Position: Athletics Event Coordinator(s)
Season: Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 (One Year Limited Contract, Three DIAA Seasons)
Location: Milford School District
Reports To: Building Principals & Athletic Director
Starting Date: August 2026

Qualifications:
- Prior coaching, athletic experience, or event management experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple events, priorities, and time sensitive responsibilities
- Demonstrated professionalism, leadership, and ability to work independently
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, officials, and community members
- Understanding of the educational value of athletics and student athlete development
- Working knowledge of Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) rules, regulations, and compliance expectations
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends based on scheduled athletic contests
- Must be 21 years of age
Performance Responsibilities:
Event Operations & Supervision
- Coordinate and supervise all assigned home athletic contests
- Ensure proper setup, staffing, and breakdown of athletic events
- Oversee gameday operations including ticketing, security, officials, and event flow
- Serve as the onsite administrator or designee during contests when needed
- Address and manage issues that arise during events in a timely and professional manner
Program Support
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director and head coaches to ensure schedules, logistics, and event needs are met
- Provide coverage for practices or contests when coaching staff is unavailable
- Assist with coordination of officials, game workers, and support staff
- Support implementation of district and athletic department procedures
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all events adhere to district policies and DIAA regulations
- Monitor and maintain a safe environment for student athletes, staff, and spectators
- Assist with emergency response as needed during events
- Support enforcement of spectator behavior expectations and sportsmanship standards
Communication & Coordination
- Maintain clear communication with coaches, administration, and event personnel
- Serve as a point of contact during events for staff, officials, and spectators
- Assist with dissemination of event related information as needed
Facilities & Equipment Oversight
- Assist in preparing athletic facilities for contests and events
- Ensure equipment is properly used, maintained, and secured after events
- Report facility or equipment concerns to the Athletic Director in a timely manner
Additional Duties
- Attend meetings and professional development as directed
- Perform other duties related to athletics and event management as assigned
Terms of Employment: One year limited contract covering three DIAA athletic seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring), in accordance with Milford School District policy 4309 D.

Salary and Benefits:Salary per the Milford School Board Policy and collective bargaining agreement. Limited Contract compensation payment schedule: Category A stipend for one year term (three DIAA Seasons, $3,500.00 total stipend).
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
