Purpose of the role

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It's the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of client relationships to identify the clients financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance to support the analysis of data obtained from various sources, including the investment portfolio and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement and additional services to support client needs.
  • Research and understanding of the client's industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Design of customised solutions that address the client's specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank's portfolio.
  • Communication of the value proposition of proposed solutions, justification of recommendations, and negotiation of terms that are beneficial for both the client and the bank.
  • Provision of guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management and wealth management strategies support, and updates on market trends to ensure a positive and continuous relationship.
  • Assessment of financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, and implementation of measures to minimise potential losses.
  • Documentation of all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings effectively to support product development, service offerings, and the overall bank strategy.
  • Monitoring of client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.

Join us as an Associate Relationship Manager – Corporate Banking, where you will play a key role in supporting Relationship Directors and Corporate Bankers in the management and growth of a portfolio of corporate clients. You will help build and strengthen client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and support the delivery of a broad range of banking solutions, including Cash Management, Liquidity, Lending, Trade Finance, Working Capital and Foreign Exchange (FX) products.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct client, sector and market research to support Relationship Directors in identifying growth opportunities and delivering strategic client plans.
  • Support the management and development of existing client relationships, ensuring a high standard of client service and engagement.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to business development and new client acquisition.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new corporate clients, ensuring a smooth and compliant client journey.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support the delivery of tailored banking solutions and client outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate client records and support regulatory and compliance requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Fluency in both Italian and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience operating within the Italian regulatory environment and an understanding of regulated activities applicable to corporate banking in Italy.
  • Experience liaising with and managing documentation requirements involving the Italian Chamber of Commerce and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • A solid understanding of corporate banking products, including:
    • Cash Management
    • Liquidity Solutions
    • Foreign Exchange (FX)
    • Lending and Debt Finance
    • Trade Finance
    • Working Capital Solutions
  • Knowledge of AML, KYC and Customer Due Diligence requirements.
  • Relationship management and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable skills and experience include:

  • Experience supporting multinational corporates, subsidiaries or broader corporate coverage portfolios.
  • A relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA), or progress towards completing one.
  • Previous experience within Corporate Banking, Relationship Management, Corporate Coverage or a client-facing banking environment.
  • Understanding of the Italian corporate landscape and business environment.

This role is located in Milan.

This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

Entry Salary: €81,000

Upper Salary: €82,000

The entry and upper salary information above includes only annual full-time equivalent base salary and represents the typical range of pay for the role. The actual pay rate will reflect the responsibility level of the role and experience level of the individual. The entry and upper salary information does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
