Work Hours: 37.5

 

Employment Type: Full- Time Contract

Role Overview

 We are looking for a passionate and culturally aware Program Support & Community Outreach Worker to support newcomers in developing essential digital skills, integrating into Canadian society, and building community connections. You will facilitate digital literacy classes, provide one-on-one support, conduct outreach, and help bridge language and technology gaps for newcomers. Fluency in Tigrinya, or Rohingya, or Arabic is required. 

 

What you will do… 

  • Deliver and support group digital literacy and language classes, adapting materials for diverse participant needs. 
  • Provide individualized coaching to newcomers on technology use, digital skills, and informal language practice. 
  • Conduct outreach to newcomer communities, promoting program participation and connecting participants to local services, networks, and supports. 
  • Assist newcomers with employment readiness, volunteer placements, and informal job search guidance. 
  • Facilitate community events, social activities, and cultural engagement opportunities. 
  • Connect vulnerable groups (seniors, parents, youth) with mainstream services and community resources. 
  • Collaborate with staff and community partners to meet program goals and funder requirements. 
  • Collect data, support program evaluation, and contribute to reporting. 

What you will bring…


  • Completion of a Community College Diploma or equivalent. 
  • 1–2 years of experience in settlement services, digital literacy, community support, or related fields. 
  • Fluency in Tigrinya, or Rohingya, or Arabic
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and database systems. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and work independently and collaboratively. 
  • Access to reliable transportation and acceptable Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
