
Accounting Trainer
Job Description
Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Trainer is responsible for the initial training of client’s usage of accounting software and/or internal training of new associates joining the CWA accounting team as well as assist tenured associates when needed.
Essential Functions
Train new clients on accounting software and CWA accounting processes
Train new associates on all internal procedures to include (but not limited to) general ledger and bank reconciliation, payroll integration, preparation of a balance sheet & income statement for a growing CPA firm specializing in financial planning to national clientele
Assist existing associates when needed
Exercise discretion and authority in the preparation of accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department
Establish records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts
Document and ensure proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies
Responsibilities and Duties
Initial setup of a client’s account to include general ledger beginning balances
Work independently on monthly and quarterly compilations including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts; assess general ledger for accuracy
Exercise discretion and authority in the preparation of after the fact payroll summaries and record journal entries
Record journal entries to reconcile balance sheet accounts to supporting documents
Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations in the preparation of year end Forms 1096 & 1099
Work independently with clients as needed to facilitate completion of financial statements
Backup for Software Specialist when necessary
Visit with client during annual consultation to develop accounting/client relationship
