Department Manager - Security & Safety
Job Description
- Implement organization security policies and procedures
- Monitor internal control systems to ensure that appropriate security clearance is maintained within the organization
- Develop and implement local security programs and procedures consistent with corporate standards and country-specific legal requirements necessary to safeguard the company
- Manage and ensure continuous improvement of all security measures against shoplifting, theft, burglary, pilferage, robbery, fraud, and any other site-specific criminal actions
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local police and law enforcement agencies
- Develop and accomplish agreed security business plans annually
- Lead and oversee the deployment of all processes and systems to mitigate security risks to the company
- Enforce compliance with all corporate security rules, standards, guidelines, and governmental regulations
- Address inquiries and resolve related security concerns in a timely manner
- Monitor health and safety procedures within the store and ensure adherence to all protocols
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all security operations
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, escalate, and resolve specific security and safety issues
- Conduct training and development programs for security personnel on updated protocols, procedures, and best practices
- Manage security department budget and allocate resources efficiently to optimize operational effectiveness
- Develop and execute emergency response plans and coordinate crisis management procedures
**Required Qualifications: **
- Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience in security management, loss prevention, or related field
- Proven experience managing security operations and personnel in a retail or corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of security systems, access control, and surveillance technologies
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing security policies and procedures
- Excellent understanding of local, state, and federal security regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead, train, and supervise security personnel effectively
- Experience conducting security risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies
