Job Posting: Secondary School MTSS Coordinator
Reports To: Middle and High School Principals
Location: Hamady Middle/High School
Position Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Secondary School Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator leads the implementation, data monitoring, and continuous improvement of the school's MTSS framework. This role ensures all secondary students receive appropriate academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and attendance supports through data-driven decisions and evidence-based interventions.
Core Responsibilities
- Framework Leadership: Coordinate and develop school-wide MTSS processes aligned with district goals and state requirements.
- Data Analysis: Collect and interpret academic, behavioral, and attendance data; facilitate regular staff data review meetings and generate progress reports.
- Intervention Management: Coordinate Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, assist staff with selecting evidence-based tools, and monitor intervention fidelity.
- Collaboration: Partner with teachers, counselors, social workers, special education teams, and families to support individual student needs.
- Staff Coaching: Provide training and professional development to instructional staff on MTSS practices and classroom behavioral strategies.
- Compliance: Ensure all MTSS processes comply with district, state, and federal guidelines, including student confidentiality.
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Michigan educator certification.
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in secondary education.
- Direct experience with student intervention systems, data analysis, and progress monitoring.
- Strong working knowledge of MTSS, RTI, PBIS, and evidence-based instructional practices.
Preferred:
- Experience coordinating MTSS specifically at the middle or high school level.
- Training in behavioral interventions, restorative practices, or social-emotional learning (SEL) frameworks.

- Proficiency with student information systems (SIS) and intervention tracking platforms.
