Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for inspecting and testing products and overseeing incoming and final inspection to ensuring that products conform to the set safety and quality standards.
Job Duties
Accept and reject products during in-process and final inspection
Ensure sufficient manpower is available for planned work and shift coverage
Assess inspection requirements and assign inspection projects and tasks to inspection personnel
Ensure adequate training and Safety with inspectors within department, to support production needs
Supervise and manage the daily and weekly workflow in Quality
Prepare Non-Conforming Material Report (NCMR) reporting a product/material that does not meet the predetermined specification identified during in-process and final inspection
Prepare / Conduct MRB meetings and feedback
Work closely with Manufacturing, other Quality Assurance departments, and other support groups (e.g., Logistics, Warehouse,).
Achieve Quality Assurance operational objectives by monitoring and assigning day-to-day activities, identifying, and addressing gaps and problems
Maintain effective work instructions and operating procedures for inspection, per ISO/IATF requirements
Maintain and store complete and accurate QC records
Maintain and support Gage Calibrations
Lead and direct the work of other employees
Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area and all laboratory equipment, etc.)
Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
High school diploma or GED required - bachelor's degree preferred, or Quality
Experience in quality assurance, preferably in a leadership position (lead, supervisor, etc.)
Manufacturing experience preferred
Experience in GD&T / Basic Blueprint
Ability to wear PPE
Experience in ISO/TS 16949 preferred
Experience in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5S, KPIs, etc. is a plus
Competencies/ Skills
Ability to understand blueprints, documents and manuals
Skill and knowledge of inspection equipment (micrometer, caliper, optical comparator, etc.)
Basic math skills
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Problem-solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication
Strong leadership skills and teamwork
