Strategic Operations Center (SOC) Analyst
Job Description
The Strategic Operations Center (SOC) Analyst is part of the Strategic Operations Center within Vanderbilt University Public Safety (VUPS) and is a key individual contributor responsible for providing real-time monitoring, intelligence analysis, emergency notification, and operational support to enhance campus safety and security. This position serves as the department’s centralized hub for video surveillance, access control, alarm monitoring, license plate recognition (LPR/ALPR), unmanned aerial systems (UAS/drones), mass emergency notifications, NCIC database operations, social media and open-source monitoring, weather surveillance, interagency coordination, and radio monitoring. The SOC operates in close coordination with the department’s Dispatch Center and Emergency Operations Center. Reporting directly to the SOC Manager, the SOC Analyst collaborates daily with VUPD police officers, investigators, the Dispatch Center, university administrators, and external law enforcement.
