Overview

Crocs Japan is hiring an E-Commerce Senior Merchandiser to help drive the globally aligned merchandising vision for Crocs, the industry-leading casual footwear brand.  As a Merchant, you are responsible for adopting the brand vision for the consumer, as well as identifying local product opportunities specific to the Japan Digital business. This person will play a key role in both pre-season assortment planning and in-season trading to ensure that the product strategy is achieved, and financial goals are met.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for creating and planning consumer-right assortments adhering to regional direction and Elective seasonal assortments for Crocs.Com and Marketplaces (Rakuten, Zozotown, Amazon and Tiktok shop) with pre-season merch in SG.
  • Create promotion lists for Marketplaces taking ownership for promotional pricing to align to monthly margin targets
  • Create weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and share with broader team
  • Maintain consumer focused by utilizing consumer insights, conducting in-store walk-throughs and click-throughs and keeping abreast of market macro environment shifts and trends
  • Create and execute on allocation plan for marketplaces, ensure inventory is optimized across platforms
  • Work with Planner to understand inventory gaps to forecast and evaluate business risk associated
  • Complete regular analysis of in-season products and promotional performance, communicate with comprehension to all stakeholders, and play forward learnings for future planning
  • Conduct Seasonal hindsight analysis. Summarize Top line Financial Performance, Platform and Category. Understand hits & misses. Review flow opportunities and challenges
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure Brand product strategy is consistently executed across the Japan marketplace
  • Participate in weekly trading meetings to bring insights and ideas to continuously grow the business
  • Review events calendar and potential key event shifts
  • Complete adhoc tasks including MSRP setting, inventory checks, promotion list alignment, customs enquiries, catalogue creation

What You'll Bring to the Table

Minimum Education:

  • University bachelor’s degree preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • 5+ years in merchandising or merchandising planning and/or buying within a direct-to-consumer environment (within a wholesale environment is a plus)
  • Digital merchandising experiences – Dot com or Market places is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Identify and leverage emerging trends and best practices in the marketplace to ensure the most effective merchandising
  • Strong understanding of market competition, consumer and market trends
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys working effectively with multiple cross-functional groups
  • Track record of succeeding in a results driven environment
  • Commercial and analytical mindset, detail oriented and capable of creating sales forecasts
  • Language: Fluent Japanese. Business English (actively participate in meetings with global teams)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.)
