Registered Nurse Instructor (RN), Home Care (LHCSA), Mandarin/Cantonese Preferred
Job Description
FlexStaff is seeking a bilingual (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) Registered Nurse (RN) with experience and strong knowledge of LHCSA regulations to work full-time as a Nurse Instructor for our client, a certified home care agency, located in Brooklyn, NY.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
Permanent Position.
This position focuses on teaching the New York State Home Health Aide (HHA) Certification Program and requires frequent travel within Brooklyn and Queens.
Key Position Requirements:
- License: Active NYS RN License.
- Language: Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a licensed home care agency.
- Travel: Will primarily be based out of Flushing, NY office; however, the candidate must be flexible and willing to travel to our other LHCSA offices throughout NYC as needed.
- Compensation: $115,000 annually
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Collaborate with department managers and HR to coordinate schedule of in service and HHA training programs
Monitor, measure and report on staff training and development plans
Develop, coordinate and conduct all HHA in service training programs per DOH and JCAHO standards
Develop, coordinate and conduct all HHA certification courses per DOH and JCAHO standards.
Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of home care aides (HHA/PCA) skills and competency
Provide in-service training and continuing education (infection control, safety, HIPAA, etc.)
Orient and educate new aides on agency policies, documentation, and patient care standards
Perform supervisory visits in the home and document aide performance and care issues
Develop/update training materials and competency checklists per DOH/regulatory requirements
Remediate performance gaps and implement corrective action plans with clinical leadership
Support aide certification/annual requirements (TB, physicals, renewals, attendance tracking)
Collaborate with coordinators/HR to ensure staffing readiness and compliance for cases
Maintain required records for audits and surveys (training logs, evaluations, competencies)
