Essential Functions:
Following menu plans, prepare a variety of high-quality food in specified quantities using standardized recipes.
Keep assigned work area clean and follow all sanitation guidelines.
Perform all duties following safety guidelines and requirements in accordance with regulatory, licensing, accreditation, and agency standards.
Maintain cleanliness standards in the cooler, freezer, and overall kitchen areas.
Maintain inventory of food, equipment, and supplies in the kitchen area.
Receive, restock, and organize inventory.
Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Background check clearance required.
State Food Safety Manager License- enrolled in class upon hire required; certificate must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Food Sanitation Certificate, or ability to obtain, required.
State Food Handlers permit within one (1) week of hire required.
Minimum of two (2) years prior experience in commercial or institutional cooking required.
Experience interacting with clients and staff required.
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions/directions and to work with minimal supervision required.
Experience operating kitchen equipment and appliances in a safe manner required.
Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
