
Oculoplastic Surgical Coordinator
Job Description
Location: The Villages
Position Type: Full-Time
- Coordinate all oculoplastic surgeries in alignment with provider availability and ASC capacity
- Schedule related appointments, including pre-operative and post-operative visits, and ensure proper sequencing of surgical encounters
- Review insurance benefits and help provide patients with clear information regarding anticipated out-of-pocket costs, including distinctions between cosmetic and medically necessary procedures
- Review pre-operative and post-operative instructions with patients and ensure they understand expectations, timelines, and recovery requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient questions and concerns throughout the surgical process
- Communicate with clinic, ASC, and front desk teams to support continuity of care and timely follow-up on items such as authorizations, clearances, and patient readiness
- Support financial counseling and upfront collections in coordination with established practice workflows
- Track surgical volume, cancellations, and conversion trends and share relevant information with leadership as needed
- Identify barriers or gaps in the surgical coordination process and recommend workflow improvements
- Support standardization of surgical coordination processes as the oculoplastic program continues to grow
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in surgical scheduling, patient coordination, or a related healthcare role preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn and effectively use practice management software, EHR, scheduling systems, and other operational tools
- Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive patient and financial information
- Ability to learn and understand the clinical language, patient pathways, and workflow needs of oculoplastic surgery, including both functional and cosmetic services
- Project professionalism in presentation and demeanor at all times and represent St. Luke’s positively to patients, the public, and the organization. This individual should be a strong communicator, highly dependable, and committed to delivering an excellent patient experience through clear coordination and compassionate support.
