Job Summary As a Workplace Relations Specialist, you will provide specialist advice and support across employee relations, workplace relations and industrial relations matters within the business. Working closely with operational leaders, you will assist in managing workplace issues, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and industrial instruments, and supporting fair and consistent people management practices. This role is ideally suited to an experienced workplace relations or employee relations practitioner who enjoys managing complex people matters in a fast-paced operational environment. You will play a key role in supporting investigations, disciplinary processes, performance management matters, workplace complaints, industrial issues and Fair Work related matters, while partnering with leaders to minimise risk and achieve practical workplace outcomes. Working closely with the Head of Industrial Relations and key stakeholders across the business, you will contribute to a positive workplace culture through the provision of practical, commercially focused and legally compliant advice. Your Activities Workplace Relations & Employee Relations Manage employee relations and workplace relations matters across the business. Provide advice and guidance to managers on performance management, misconduct, disciplinary matters, grievances, workplace complaints and employment obligations. Conduct and support workplace investigations, including gathering evidence, interviewing relevant parties and preparing investigation findings and recommendations. Prepare employment related documentation including allegation letters, investigation invitations, show cause letters, warnings, outcome letters and termination correspondence. Support managers in managing underperformance, behavioural concerns and workplace conflict in accordance with company policy and legislative requirements. Provide advice regarding obligations under the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, enterprise agreements, modern awards and company policies. Support the management of Fair Work Commission applications, industrial disputes and other employment related matters. Assist with union engagement, consultation obligations, Right of Entry matters and industrial relations issues. Support organisational change processes, including consultation and employee communication requirements. Advice, Training & Compliance Deliver training and coaching to leaders on workplace relations, employee relations and people management processes. Promote consistent and compliant application of workplace policies, procedures and industrial instruments across the business. Identify workplace relations risks and provide practical recommendations to support compliant and commercially sound outcomes. Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to workplace relations and employee relations matters. Monitor emerging workplace relations developments and legislative changes and assist in implementing required business responses. Assist in reviewing and developing workplace policies, procedures and employment documentation. Stakeholder Management Build effective working relationships with operational leaders, Human Resources, Safety, and other key stakeholders. Partner with leaders to ensure workplace matters are managed fairly, consistently and in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements. Escalate complex, sensitive or high-risk matters where appropriate. Your Profile Essential Demonstrated experience in workplace relations, employee relations, industrial relations or human resources. Experience managing employee relations matters including performance management, misconduct, disciplinary processes, workplace investigations, grievances and employment terminations. Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, modern awards and enterprise agreements. Experience providing workplace relations advice to operational leaders in a practical and commercially focused manner. Strong written communication skills, including drafting employment correspondence and investigation documentation. Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and sound judgement. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, coach and support stakeholders at all levels. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive matters. Desirable Experience within a unionised workplace environment. Exposure to Fair Work Commission proceedings, industrial disputes or enterprise bargaining. Experience in aviation, transport, logistics, manufacturing or another operational environment.
