About the location:

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will feature 95 keys and 25 branded residential homes, 8 distinct F&B outlets, all thoughtfully designed to reflect a contemporary interpretation of the Dominican Republic’s natural beauty. Wellness will be a defining pillar of the property, delivering a holistic experience that harmonizes with the natural environment while enhancing overall wellbeing through the restorative power of nature. The sustainable luxury destination is located on a 60-acre (24 hectare) site along the pristine beachfront of Playa Esmeralda in northeastern Dominican Republic, along the southern shores of Samaná Bay. A site of breathtaking natural beauty, Tropicalia is home to a diverse ecosystem of white-sand beaches; crystalline, aquamarine water and coral reefs; mountains, forests, mangroves, lagoons and rivers; a working coconut plantation; and an organic farm.

What you will do 

  • Lead the development and execution of a world-class wellness strategy, creating an innovative, holistic, and award-winning spa and wellness program that elevates the Tropicalia guest experience and establishes the resort as a premier wellness destination. 

  • Supervise all the operating responsibilities, coordinating efforts and establishing priorities. 

  • Ensure all relevant Four Seasons standards, policies and procedures are developed, implemented and actioned.  

  • Responsible for the over-all operation and performance of the spa and fitness for the Resort - including salon and retail, fitness center, meeting all financial objectives for the spa(s), meeting monthly spa revenue projections as it relates to retail and service and ensuring that expenses are maintained within budget provided. Primary functions include, but are not limited to: (1) providing outstanding guest service and satisfaction, (2) revenue generation and enhancement, (3) staff management and training. 

  • Responsible for the quality of service and maintenance of the product at the Spa in line with Four Seasons operating standards. 

  • Responsible for the quality of service and maintenance of the Fitness Center with Four Seasons operating standards. 

  • Prepare monthly financial and statistical reports for the Hotel senior management incorporating proposals and recommendations regarding policy and operation of the Spa/Fitness, competition, occupancy and usage, market share and achievement of targets. 

  • Develop and submit an annual budget and business plan for the Spa/Fitness. To be responsible for the achievement and regular review of the business plan and budget. This should also include the control of staff wage costs in relation to productivity and efficiency. 

  • Work closely with the Executive Team in the preparation of Spa/Fitness marketing plans for the year. 

  • Coordinate all promotional plans and projects for the facility. To provide leadership, direction and support to the employees of the Spa/Fitness and to develop a highly motivated team who can deliver high standards of service in all areas. 

  • Effectively integrate the Spa/Fitness within the Hotel marketing strategy and to ensure that the Spa /Fitness is marketed correctly both internally and externally. This includes responsibility for ensuring that all hotel staff are kept informed of changes or additions to information in the Spa/Fitness. 

  • Work collaboratively and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

What you bring 

  • A genuine passion for wellness, with a strong vision and proven expertise in designing and delivering transformative, high-impact wellness programs that drive guest engagement, brand differentiation, and industry recognition. 

  • Previous Hotel/Resort Spa and Fitness Experience. 

  • Minimum 5 years management experience in a luxury Spa and Fitness. 

  • Strong leadership & organizational skills required. 

  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study preferred. 

  • Thorough knowledge of 5-star service standards, effective application of spa staffing models.  

  • Proven ability to create and implement spa service menus, effective retail management. 

  • Successful marketing strategies, and demonstrated ability to project costs, revenue and to adhere to the budget that supports monthly / annual financials. 

  • Proven leadership track record and luxury retail sales experience. 

  • Previous experience preferred as a hands-on therapist such as massage therapist, esthetician, etc. 

  • Strong delegation, leadership, and operational skills to effectively manage high-volume performance and require previous experience managing high-volume stores or equivalent.
