About Outreach

Outreach, founded in 2014, is the only complete agentic AI platform for revenue teams. Outreach infuses agentic AI, conversation intelligence, and assistive AI to power hundreds of use cases across revenue motions. From new logo prospecting to expansions, deal acceleration, driving retention, and forecasting, Outreach AI automates workflows and frees sellers to focus on more strategic conversations and actions. Revenue leaders benefit from connected account visibility, performance insights, and higher forecasting accuracy across every GTM team. World leading enterprise organizations use Outreach to power their revenue teams, including Databricks, SAP, Siemens, and Verizon to name a few.

About the Team

The mission of the Email + Calendar Services (ECS) team is to deliver the microservice constellation that supports Outreach's email and calendar experience all the way through - from compose and smart scheduling to send, telemetry, and sync back to the platform. Our team processes millions of emails every day.

The ECS team focuses on building reliable and performant services that connect Outreach to customers’ email providers (Microsoft 365, Gmail, Exchange, Zoom) to send, sync and analyze email communication. This enables our customers to efficiently and effectively communicate and turns the millions of emails sent into valuable insights to help progress deals forward.

The team also supports the Email & Calendar Experiences team to provide ways to create, manage and organize content used in communications.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to take our ECS team to the next level. Email and calendar are the spine of how Outreach customers connect with their buyers - and the data layer that feeds our agentic-AI revenue platform - so we need an EM who can lead the people and own the roadmap and operational excellence for a team operating at multi-tenant, massive scale.

You will lead a team of up to 8 engineers building services where reliability, deliverability, observability and security/privacy compliance are non-negotiable. You'll partner closely with Product Management, the SRE organization, the Security team, and the Email & Calendar Experiences team to conceptualize, design and deliver.

This is not a Jira-shepherd role. We want an EM who stays close to the code - who can debate architecture trade-offs, drive tech-debt down, raise the technical bar in design reviews, and grow senior engineers because they earn their trust on the technical fundamentals as well as the people ones.

If you've been an engineering manager long enough to know you still want to be in the room for the hard technical decisions, this is for you.

Our Tech Stack

On the back-end we use Go for our next-generation services, with some applications still in Ruby on Rails. We have data stores built on MySQL, Redis and AWS S3. For async processing we use Kafka and RabbitMQ, and we are transitioning our data loading layer to GraphQL. Everything runs on Kubernetes (EKS) and is observed in Datadog and Honeycomb.

The charter is wide, the opportunities for organizational impact are boundless, and we have your back to try new things and see if they stick and do, in fact, make everyone more efficient.

If this sounds exciting to you, come have a chat - we’d love to talk about what we’re doing here.

Location

While we are remote-friendly, we remain an "office-centric" company. This role is categorized as hybrid and it is expected you live in a reasonable proximity to the office in Prague so you would be able to connect with your team on weekly regular basis, attend in-person meetings and company events.

This is a full-time, permanent role, not eligible for contractors and for work from other countries.
