Job Description
About cosmos
We're building the Strategic Operating System that connects business objectives, operational reality, and decision-making in a single, living context. We turn strategy from a planning artifact into a real-time control system—one that shows decision-makers where their actions create impact and where they don't, continuously, as conditions change.
Strategy lives in slides while decisions happen at the front lines—based on fragmented information, outdated assumptions, and invisible dependencies. By the time the quarterly review reveals the drift, the capital is already burned. cosmos™ closes this gap.
This isn't a project management software. This is infrastructure for how organizations think, decide, and execute.
The Role
You'll be part of a small, lean engineering team where your code ships to real customers solving real strategic problems. You'll build the core cosmos product and experience, owning customer-facing features end-to-end while elevating the technical capabilities of the team around you.
You thrive when given a problem, the authority to solve it, and the responsibility to see it through—and you raise the bar for everyone working alongside you. You contribute to our mission to make strategy operational.
What You Will Do
Build critical product capabilities with high-quality, maintainable code using our stack: Typescript, React, PHP, Symfony
Own features end-to-end, from initial architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration based on customer feedback
Guide and lead architecture decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term scalability and maintainability
Navigate technical complexity, debug production systems, investigate performance issues, and make architectural decisions that balance speed and maintainability
Review code, enforce best practices, and support continuous integration and automated testing across the team
Mentor team members on AI adoption and best coding practices
Collaborate across disciplines, working directly with product, design, and fellow engineers to ship cohesive solutions that solve real customer problems
About You
5+ years of experience as a software engineer with demonstrated technical depth
You work independently with minimal supervision and a strong sense of impact
You see patterns across problems and can translate technical decisions into business outcomes
Strong debugging and investigation skills
You elevate those around you—through thoughtful code reviews, pairing sessions, or leading by example
You communicate and collaborate effectively in English (German is a plus but not required)
You thrive in ambiguity, making forward progress when requirements aren't perfectly clear, and enable others to do the same
You care about code quality but know when perfect is the enemy of shipped
Bonus Skills
Prior experience integrating and deploying third-party services at scale
Experience building products in the B2B or enterprise SaaS space
Track record of improving engineering practices or tooling at previous companies
Benefits
Autonomy to shape your work, influence architecture, and own meaningful problems
Small team where your decisions directly impact customers and product direction
Remote flexibility or work from our office
