Make your mark while you grow your career! Are you seeking an opportunity to demonstrate and develop your Maintenance Technician – Pipefitter skill set? If so, this is an incredible opportunity where you will install, troubleshoot, clean, inspect, repair, and maintain equipment within our Secondary Upgrader and Sulphur Department at our Horizon U2 site. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with Canadian Natural and industry standards and procedures. This will include supporting, participating in, and driving our overall safety program, safety awareness, and safety targets.
- Location: Horizon site, Fort McMurray, Alberta
- Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shift
- Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:
- Execute a detailed and thorough maintenance plan
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures and engineering standards to ensure maintenance projects adhere to compliance
- Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines, using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing equipment, observation, or other methods
- Be able to read and interpret full scale drawings of pipe systems, line classes, supports, and related equipment, following Isometrics and P&ID’s
- Rig and lift components and torque and tension bolted joints, filling out reports as required
What You Bring to the Role:
- Alberta Journeyman or Red Seal Pipefitter or Steamfitter trades certificate
- 5 -10 years of experience working as a Pipefitter or Steamfitter in a heavy industrial environment
- Well-developed communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are required
- Ability to work independently within a dynamic work environment is essential
