Receiving/Inventory Clerk
Department: Warehouse, Distribution
Location: Hanover Park, IL
Type: Full-time
 
Summary:
Assists Warehouse Manager with receiving and inventory control activities to ensure products are received, moved, and stored accurately. Processes and controls returned materials.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
  • Assists in performing cycle counts of material in various warehouses and locations for accuracy, posts totals to inventory records, and resolves discrepancies.
  • Process customer and vendor returns, including working with the QA, Customer Service, and Product Management departments.
  • Resolves inventory discrepancies such as lot numbers, quantities, bin locations, etc., as reported by warehouse Material Handlers or other warehouse personnel.
  • Performs inbound receiving functions in the database and confirms receipt accuracy by following procedures for marking and tagging pallets before inbound stock put-away processes are carried out.
  • Update Bin locations in the database based on Material Handler stock movement sheets.
  • Assists in the management of the Quarantine area inventory by working with Product Managers and QA departments.
  • Perform upkeep on Receiving, RMA’s and RTV’s files that are consistent with company guidelines in correlation to audit verifications. 
  • Operate forklift truck and stock picker to perform cycle counts and other duties may be assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience:
  • 1+ years of warehouse experience.
  • Experience operating Narrow Aisle, Stock Picker, and Counterbalance forklifts.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and work in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to lift up to 55lbs.
  • Work environment is normally in an office setting. Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Other physical requirements include moderate standing and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting
  • Ability to stand for an extended periods of time
  • Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and facemask
  • Ability to work above shoulders
  • Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, twisting, and bi-lateral wrist movement
  • Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
