Job Description
Senior Technician, Mammalian Manufacturing, Fixed Night Shift
Our purpose is to bring hope to life by enabling life-changing therapies for patients around the globe, creating a healthier and happier tomorrow. Our mission is to work side by side with our customers in order to improve patients’ lives by bringing new biopharmaceuticals to market.
At AGC Biologics in Søborg, manufacturing is where complex science becomes real treatments for patients. Our upstream teams play a crucial role in this journey by cultivating and expanding the cell cultures that produce the biologic proteins for the final high-quality product delivered to our global biotech partners.
As a Technician in Mammalian Upstream Manufacturing, you will work hands-on with advanced cell culture technologies in a modern GMP facility. Your work will contribute directly to ensuring that biologic therapies are produced safely, efficiently, and according to the highest quality standards.
This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in cell culture and bioreactor operations while collaborating with experienced colleagues across manufacturing, quality, and development.
Where Upstream Expertise Meets Advanced Manufacturing
In upstream manufacturing, the process begins with thawing frozen cell banks and progresses through media preparation, cell expansion, and large-scale cultivation in bioreactors until the final harvest. Here, the biologic product is produced by the cells before it is passed on for purification.
In your daily work, you will help prepare production rooms and equipment, manage media production, and execute upstream processes such as cell thawing, inoculation, cultivation, and harvest. You will work with technologies including single-use bioreactors, incubators, and cell culture monitoring systems, ensuring processes are executed according to GMP procedures and production records.
Your responsibilities will also include sampling and completing production documentation such as batch records and logbooks. Together with your team, you will help ensure that harvested material is delivered to the downstream team while maintaining strong quality documentation in collaboration with responsible scientists and other stakeholders. You will also participate in maintaining equipment readiness, including controls, calibration, and system checks to support reliable production operations.
A Team Focused on Collaboration and High Quality
You will join a team of technicians and scientists who work in a professional and collaborative way. Knowledge sharing and teamwork are essential, as the upstream process relies on close coordination with stakeholders.
The environment is at times fast-paced and dynamic, but also supportive and structured. Colleagues help each other solve challenges, maintain strong GMP standards, and continuously improve the way we work.
Working in upstream manufacturing gives you exposure to advanced cell culture technologies and the opportunity to develop strong
technical expertise in LAF, thaw, expansions, bioreactor operations and GMP manufacturing.
What Will Help You Succeed
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a structured production environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
You likely have a technical background such as Process Operator or Process Technologist and experience from manufacturing environments within biotech, pharmaceutical, or similar industries.
Experience with cell culture, aseptic techniques, or bioreactor systems will help you quickly contribute to the team. Just as important, you bring a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Since procedures and documentation are handled in English, fluency in written and spoken English is required.
