Inventory Control Supervisor - Distribution Center
Hours: 3rd shift- Wednesday - Friday 5:00 PM-5:30 AM
General Summary:
This person reports to the ICC Department Manager and is responsible for the Inventory Control operations on their shift. Supervise up to 10 associates. Oversee the direction, coordination, and evaluation of Inventory Control workflows. Evaluate workflow trends and inform the management team of potential risks, issues arising and concerns regarding inventory control processes. Partner with management to develop action plans that promote inventory accuracy through continuous process improvements, foster best practices and achieve the Distribution Center and Family Dollar initiatives and goals.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with established Distribution Center policies and procedures.
Analyze reports measuring the effectiveness of the Distribution Center.
Coordinate communication with Corporate Office, Stores and Distribution Center Management to provide timely solutions to inventory issues.
Periodically audit department processes to include Receiving, Storage, Forklift, Shipping, Bulk and Repack.
Organizes Inventory Control functions and instructs Team Members in inventory and system processes, effectively.
Processes all merchandise returns to vendor.
Direct the scheduling and ensure performance of inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
Determine the plan for the storage of all inventory product using Catalyst driven data and statistical reports to maximize pick and reserve location productivity.
Partner with Damaged/Returns area to ensure that product is credited in a timely manner and managed effectively.
Provide necessary leadership to ensure the Distribution Center compliance to quality requirements.

Position Requirements
Education: High school preferred.
Experience: Four to six months clerical or similar work experience in a Retail Distribution or Warehouse environment is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate basic Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows. Working knowledge of WMS preferred.
Physical Requirements: Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. These tasks require the ability to frequently lift up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and rarely up to 60 pounds. The Team Member should have adequate fitness level to meet the demands of frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing of stairs, occasional sitting, stooping and kneeling with or without reasonable accommodation. Team Member will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per Distribution Center requirements.
Working Conditions: Team Member will work in a non-climate controlled Distribution or Warehouse atmosphere, in which outside weather conditions greatly affect the building’s temperature. Team Member may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts or equipment, fumes and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.
Availability: Team Member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
Minimum Requirements:
High School, GED
Education:
1-3 years supervisory experience in a distribution, transportation or warehouse environment.
Experience:
Basic computer skills (MS Office, Windows). Ability to create and manipulate reports (Excel). Ability to learn RETEK. Computer Skills
