Preceptor Registered Nurse RN- Telemetry

The Registered Nurse Preceptor functions as a teacher and mentor in guiding, directing and supervising technical nursing activities of the nurse preceptee. Provides guidance and consultation when needed, regarding effective patient care and scope of practice. Creates formal and informal learning opportunities for peers regarding practice issues, technology and/or current research, identifies and intervenes when staff weaknesses are identified. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care given to their assigned patients. They communicate with the physician, nurse director, and coworkers about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology.
