Job Description
Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position: Be part of a team of wildlife and habitat biologists and technicians who implement regional habitat management activities on private, state and federal lands. Help develop and implement the Habitat Section's regional budget and workplan priorities. Contribute to a culture of teamwork and cooperation through meaningful interactions with fellow team members and staff from other regional administrative sections. Develop partnerships with private landowners and organizations and local, state and federal government agencies to review and provide input on proposed projects to mitigate impacts to local wildlife populations and habitats. Attend professional trainings and become a regional expert in water rights, water law and the practical implications of local water management activities on local wildlife populations and habitats. Engage local stakeholders to review habitat and recreation management activities at regional wildlife management areas, and work cooperatively with partners to revise relevant management plans that support wildlife and habitat management objectives.
