What will you need to be successful?
Based in Penang, Malaysia, the role requires a technical certificate, vocational training, or diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing disciplines, with a higher diploma as an advantage. Prior experience as a CNC machining, production, or technical support technician is preferred, especially in regulated environments such as medical manufacturing. Technician grade assignment is determined by relevant experience and demonstrated capability to perform tasks of increasing complexity, with minimal travel required mainly for training or supplier-related activities.
The role demands strong competencies in CNC tooling, speeds and feeds, basic offsets, and the ability to read engineering drawings and follow instructions accurately. Candidates must be disciplined in documentation and compliance, skilled in data collection, and effective in communicating with Engineering and Production teams. The position involves hands-on troubleshooting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, requires standing or walking for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 25 kg, manual handling of equipment, and the ability to work shift-based operations as per production needs.
