The opportunity
We’re seeking a skilled analyst who brings energy, curiosity and a positive approach to our First Line Risk and Governance team, supporting control testing and assurance activities across AUSPAC. In this role, you’ll partner with first line risk teams to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls, deliver practical assurance insights, and contribute to strong risk management outcomes aligned with business, regulatory and legal obligations.

Your new role
As a Control Testing and Assurance Analyst, you’ll support effective risk management across AUSPAC by partnering with stakeholders within the QBE risk framework to deliver control testing and assurance activities, provide insights on control performance, and recommend practical improvements. Through this, you’ll help identify key themes, strengthen control environments, and drive continuous improvement across processes, systems, and ways of working.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct control testing and control assurance activities across our key processes and business areas, assessing the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
- Engage with key stakeholders to plan, deliver and communicate testing and assurance outcomes, providing a professional and values-aligned customer service experience.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based observations and reporting that highlight control themes, support decision-making, and enable effective risk management.
- Provide practical recommendations to uplift control effectiveness, strengthen assurance outcomes, and improve overall risk maturity across the business.
- Support the ongoing improvement of testing and assurance methodologies, templates and reporting to drive consistency, quality and continuous improvement.
About you
We are seeking a candidate who brings:
- Experience in control testing, assurance, or a first line risk role, essential.
- Knowledge of general insurance operations, products, risks and regulatory obligations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to partner effectively and deliver a high standard of customer service.
- Technical expertise in control testing and assurance, including the ability to assess evidence, identify themes and communicate practical recommendations.
- A curious mindset, sound judgement, and a continuous improvement focus that supports better risk and customer outcomes.
