
Assistive Technology Specialist (.2 FTE) Special Services
Job Description
The Special Services department within the Lake Washington School District is looking for qualified certificated candidates for an Assistive Technology Specialist (.2 FTE) position beginning in the 2026-27 school year.
Position Summary:
The Assistive Technology Specialist will collaborate with educators, students, and families to assess needs, facilitate the development of personalized technology plans, and provide support for successful implementation. Additionally, the Assistive Technology Specialist will support district initiatives of equity and inclusion by providing large scale training, resources for implementation and learning, and cross departmental collaboration. This position will report to the Special Services Director.

Qualifications:
- Current Washington State Teaching certificate OR Educational Staff Associate certificate (ESA).
- Experience working in PreK-12 education, with a focus on supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Experience implementing use of assistive technology tools with individual students and teams.
- Background in and understanding of assistive technology, including AAC, various AT tools, software, and light-tech devices.
