Experience Required: 4 to 10 Years
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong knowledge in generator systems, protection schemes, and electrical equipment engineering. The candidate will be responsible for engineering support, technical review, procurement coordination, and execution activities related to power generation and associated electrical systems. Experience in industrial power projects, rotating equipment, and electrical protection systems is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Engineering Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and understand:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- Logic diagrams
- Protection philosophies
- Electrical engineering documents and specifications
- Perform engineering review and technical analysis related to:
- Generator protection systems
- Short circuit calculations
- Electrical coordination studies
- Apply relevant ANSI / IEEE standards including:
- IEEE 242
- IEEE 551
- Other applicable protection and power system standards
- Support engineering activities associated with:
- Generator systems
- Static Frequency Converters (SFC)
- Excitation systems
- Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR)
- Metering systems
- Protection relays and associated auxiliaries
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Support procurement activities for electrical equipment such as:
- Transformers
- Electrical panels
- Protection systems
- Review vendor documents, datasheets, drawings, and technical offers.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Project & Execution Support
- Perform contract specification review and gap analysis based on previous project experience.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities whenever required.
- Ensure compliance with project standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
Desired Skills & Knowledge
- Good understanding of industrial electrical systems and power generation applications.
- Familiarity with IEC standards, especially for Asian and Middle East projects, will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle technical discussions with vendors and clients.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with exposure to complete project lifecycle activities including:
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Installation support
- Testing & commissioning
- Startup support
will be highly preferred.
