About the Role
The Lunchroom Supervisor Position supports students' learning by helping to support all aspects of a student’s development (social/emotional, academic, physical, artistic expression) through caring and respectful relationships. As a key member of the district, these individuals participate in the collective responsibility for providing equitable opportunities and supporting the learning environment for students. Lunchroom/recess supervisors maintain positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and staff. The Lunchroom Supervisor position will ensure that equity is at the center of the district's services to positively impact student learning and employee practices as expressed in Board Policy 7:12: Ensuring Racial and Educational Equity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist students with emotional/behavioral needs in the lunchroom/recess setting.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
Assist with the safe entry and exit of students
Provide student reminders as needed.
Manage and support students with a variety of abilities.
Provide direction and assistance to students in an emergency situation.
Content Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to remain patient and respect the needs of students.
Ability to effectively communicate with students.
Understanding of and respect for the educational process and significance.
Candidate Qualifications:
High School Diploma, or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the performance of light work—which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. The position includes close visual acuity, frequent talking, hearing, walking, climbing stairs and standing, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed in non-hazardous environments and a clean atmosphere. The position requires indoor and outdoor supervision during varying temperatures and climatic conditions.
