Job Description

The objective of all positions is to effectively provide the services personally, or to immediately refer requests to the appropriate department manager. The following is a summary of the major responsibilities of the position.
DEPARTMENT: Mokara Spa
JOB TITLE: Licensed Massage Therapist
REPORTS TO: Spa Director, Spa Supervisor
JOB PURPOSE: The Massage Therapist is responsible for guest satisfaction in the spa by performing services to the best of their ability and maintaining Omni standards throughout all procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
To work as part of the Mokara Spa therapy team to consistently provide the highest possible standard treatment, creating a sensory journey for guests helping them to rest, relax and regain a sense of balance of harmony in their lives.
Responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and setting up the treatment rooms according to procedures.
Maintain sanitation of work area and equipment as required by state board guidelines.
Ensure all professional stock is being used in compliance with the PAR levels to assist with reduction in product waste.
Begin and end treatments at the published time, and ensure correct procedures of all treatments are always being followed.
Ensure all guests depart with a completed prescription form after every service.
Strive to consistently produce a minimum of 10% in retail sales daily, weekly, and monthly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 1-year experience in massage therapy, preferably in an upscale salon or spa setting.
Ability to obtain a State of Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission server permit before date of hire.
Proficient skills in traditional and modern forms of massage.
Good verbal/written communication skills.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
Commitment to exceeding the expectations of customers, always operating with a strong attention to detail to the client’s needs.
Ability to work well under pressure, managing back to back appointments in a high volume 4 diamond environment.
Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including being on call for weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Responsible and dependable with ability to fulfill on-call scheduling needs.
Ability to obtain a State of Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission server permit.
ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS
Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 20 pounds without assistance.
Stand and/or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
Requires repetitive motion, with consistent use of hands and arms.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
Desktop computer (Opera, SpaSoft, Oracle, Birchstreet, Kronos and Microsoft Office), printer, telephone, copier, fax machine and scanner. Cleaning supplies such as vacuum, mop, broom, duster and chemicals.
