The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading engineering and maintenance activities across a high-volume manufacturing facility that includes a primary production line and several satellite operational cells. This role drives capital investment strategy, ensures equipment reliability and uptime, and oversees a significant operating and capital budget. The Engineering Manager provides leadership to both engineering and maintenance teams while partnering cross-functionally to optimize production efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, develop, and manage a multidisciplinary technical team of engineering and maintenance staff, as well as key contractors
  • Establish clear goals and performance expectations for team members
  • Determine skill levels within the department and define training plan to bridge gaps
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain leadership
Capital Planning & Project Execution (CAPEX)
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term capital investment strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Identify, justify, and prioritize capital projects to improve capacity, efficiency, and reliability
  • Oversee full lifecycle of capital projects (scoping, budgeting, procurement, installation, and commissioning)
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Equipment Reliability & Maintenance
  • Implement and sustain reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and preventive/predictive maintenance programs
  • Drive continuous improvement in equipment uptime, OEE, and maintenance cost efficiency
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Lead root cause analysis for major equipment failures and drive permanent solutions
Operations Support (Production Line & Cells)
  • Provide technical support to the Reynobond production line as well as Rework, Cut to Length and Finished Goods operational cells
  • Work cross-functionally to optimize throughput, reduce downtime, reduce costs, and improve product quality
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement automation or system upgrades where appropriate
Budget & Financial Management
  • Develop and manage a large operating and capital budget
  • Track and control maintenance expenses, capital expenditures, and cost-saving initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining operational excellence
Compliance, Safety, & Standards
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead initiatives to improve workplace safety and reduce risk
  • Maintain and enforce engineering and maintenance standards, procedures, and documentation

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent years of directly related professional experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of supervising and/or leadership experience in an Industrial or Manufacturing setting
  • Experience managing large projects and budget
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering and/or maintenance leadership
  • Working knowledge of HAS process and equipment
  • Experience in high-speed or continuous manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies
  • Experience with CMMS systems and reliability programs

  • Experience managing technical teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration
 


Work Environment
  • Manufacturing facility with large scale production line and smaller operational cells.
  • Most work is performed in an office setting with some hands-on plant floor engagement.
  • Some travel is required to visit job sites, customer shops, and supplier operations.
  • May require occasional off-hours support during critical equipment issues or project execution.
