ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE
Reports to: Manager – Sales Administration
Department: Sales
Job Type: Temporary, 18 months
Location: Hamilton, ON
Salary Range: starting at $34/h
About the role
The Account Representative role is responsible for providing customer service to a set group of customers working in conjunction with Account Managers and Commercial Management. In this role the individual will be exposed to various aspects of Stelco’s overall business and will be provided a well-rounded basic knowledge of the order-to-cash process from beginning to end through interaction with customers and multiple function groups within the organization. This is an existing vacancy.

Your day-to-day:
Exhibiting professionalism in representing Stelco, both internally and externally
Entering orders into Stelco’s ERP system, while ensuring orders are compared to and validated against the customer purchase orders
Providing regular order status updates to customers
Managing daily shipments and inventory levels to meet customer supply requirements and satisfy company objectives
Communicating daily with customers, producing facilities, and technical personnel on various issues including order entry, production, and shipments
Following and expediting the production of orders to ensure on-time delivery to the customer
Developing customer specific market information to understand the customer needs and for internal purposes, including business forecasting
What you bring to the table
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, supply chain management or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
1 year of related experience in customer service or a closely related function preferred
Related experience in the steel, metals, or closely related industry is an asset
Job Skills and Knowledge:
Computer literacy to a working skills level - proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Organizational, analytical, and time management skills highly desired
Detail oriented work ethic
Ability to adapt to and master web-based applications – Microsoft D365 experience is an asset
Willing to travel to customer plant locations as required
