Overview
Registered Nurse - Med Surg Tele, travel assignment in Rochester, NY. Start date 06/22/2026 for a contract measured in weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $1,774 to $1,928 per week with shift 3x12 Days and no guaranteed hours. This position is in a hospital setting focusing on adult and geriatric Med/Surg Tele overflow care, supporting ED boarders in a flex space inside GI Endoscopy. The unit is a 14-bed overflow/holding area with typical patient care needs across med/surg telemetry. Orientation is 12 hours, and the assignment may require float to ED holding patients. First-time travelers are welcome.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Tele overflow setting
- Monitor vital signs, detect and respond to dysrhythmias, and manage continuous patient conditions
- Perform phlebotomy and IV placement; manage peripheral lines; coordinate with the PICC team as needed
- Administer medications, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive airway management per physician orders
- Implement isolation precautions and PPE use; maintain infection control standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV/PICC, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Transport, Interpretation services) and participate in Rapid Response/Code teams
- Document in EPIC; ensure accurate charting and timely communications with the care team
- Float to ED holding as needed and follow unit protocols for overflow patient care

Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand; pending licenses not accepted
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year RN experience; charge experience preferred
- Prior Med/Surg Tele or overflow/holding unit experience considered
- Ability to work in a fast-paced overflow Med/Surg Tele setting and float to ED holding as needed
- Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and IV placement; knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation
- EPIC charting experience or proficiency with similar electronic medical record systems
