Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Corporate Communications Senior Manager to join our dynamic and geographically dispersed team. This person will be responsible for developing and executing Visa’s external communications strategy, to advance the company’s business interests primarily in Pakistan and key North Africa, Levant and Pakistan markets. The candidate will also support internal and client communications strategies, events and campaigns as part of the larger NALP communications team.

This position is based in Karachi, Pakistan, and will report to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications for Visa for the North Africa, Levant and Pakistan region, based in Dubai, UAE.   

An ideal candidate is an experienced communications generalist, who excels at working collaboratively but who requires minimal supervision in delivering high-quality work. The ideal candidate is curious, creative and has a strong storytelling mindset and business acumen. They are a good writer, and content creator, digitally savvy program manager, is energetic and will be a key strategic business partner to the country manager and other functional leads.

Principle Responsibilities and Key Results Area

  • Proactively execute efficient and timely communications strategies against defined goals and metrics that align to and support the regional business development priorities.
  • Create a steady stream of content including but not limited to key messages, frequently asked questions, videos, presentations, digital content, blog posts, articles etc. across multiple channels as part of an ongoing communications calendar.
  • Raise awareness of the company and improve its corporate reputation among critical audiences as measured by media coverage, message pull-through and, where possible, perception audits.
  • Direct and manage communications agencies to enhance external perceptions of Visa and meet business objectives.
  • Work with business units to develop and manage specific project-based campaigns and communications plans, ensure appropriate implementation through communications agency, monitors and manages against targets.
  • Manage corporate profiling for key spokespeople and develop and execute proactive reputation building and maintenance plans
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key media representatives, pitching stories in an appropriate and effective way with a particular focus on Tier1 outlets in markets of responsibility.
  • Support crisis and issues management.
  • Oversee media monitoring and create reports as relevant
  • Manage budgets for the indicated markets, communications agencies, and campaigns.
  • Liaise with major partners to develop shared strategy and messages for significant launches.
  • Create speeches, experiences, videos, presentations, social media content, visuals, and other communications.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • 8+ years of experience in communications, corporate communications, PR, or media communications.
  • Fluent in English and Urdu spoken and written
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing and publishing skills
  • Deep understanding of the Pakistan media and digital landscape and operating environment
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel and demonstrated capability to leverage AI and digital tools to enhance communications effectiveness including creating visual/graphic content, simplifying data into insights, and scaling content production across channels
  • Highly collaborative with strong project management skills. Event management skills and experience is an asset
  • Strong business acumen and ability to guide and influence senior stakeholders
  • Preferred candidates would have a strong understanding of the business and payments ecosystem, technology, innovation and fintech space or a proven track record in a global MNC environment
