The Difference You Will Make
The Kitchen Lead oversees daily back‑of‑house operations to ensure efficient food preparation, high‑quality production, and a clean, safe work environment. This role provides hands‑on support in cooking and prep work, directs kitchen staff during service, upholds food safety standards, and assists with ordering, inventory, and workflow coordination. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
What You’ll Bring:
Lead and support kitchen staff during prep and service to maintain smooth operations.
Prepare, cook, and portion menu items following established recipes and quality standards.
Train new kitchen team members and provide ongoing guidance to existing staff.
Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and production efficiency.
Maintain accurate inventory levels and communicate ordering or restocking needs.
Uphold sanitation, cleanliness, and food‑safety regulations (including proper storage and labeling).
Coordinate with front‑of‑house management to ensure timely food delivery.
Assist with scheduling, task assignments, and problem‑solving during busy periods.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and report maintenance needs promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
At least one (1) year of related back-of-house and/or kitchen experience required.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work with long periods of standing and walking throughout the café service area. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, and crawling; specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a kitchen environment including heat and steam.
Location and Travel: Position will be based in Nashville, TN, Brier Creek, NC, Pflugerville, TX or Columbus, OH with occasional travel to local stores.
