Job Description

As a global player and buyer of goods and services, EPO leverages technical excellence to develop best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) solutions to our internal clients, commonly called “users,” to secure ArcelorMittal’s supply chain. We negotiate the purchases of contracts and products and services for the group mills worldwide, designing and implementing relevant strategies to anticipate market evolutions and establish transformation programs to optimize the purchasing processes and performances.

About the role 

  • Buyer for logistics platforms
  • Co-develop and co-implement the purchasing strategy for the sub-category Ports, Barging and Logistics Platforms for the logistics platforms’ part.
  • Ensure that all the sites (plants) requirements for the sub-category Ports, Barging and Logistics Platforms scope are covered in due time with the best solution (best value for money)
  • Work closely with internal customers and CMO departments for sites across Europe to ensure effective strategic procurement and business continuity. Build and maintain strong relationships with mills to understand logistics needs and develop transport contract specifications.
  • Lead development, changes and implementation of strategic priorities
  • Collect and challenge business needs with internal customers
  • Propose and select suppliers in coordination with HOSC.
  • Analyze/estimate supplier P&Ls as one basis of negotiations
  • Monitor supplier quality (also via the mills/CMOs as users of the service) of suppliers as another basis of negotiations
  • Responsible for strategic sourcing with focus on TCO optimization from plants until end-customers. Benchmark operations and contracts to identify levers for negotiation.
  • Deliver targeted savings and other subcategory KPI targets 
  • Define customer satisfaction KPIs and implement follow-up and corrective actions when required.
  • Identify and manage risks, proposing effective solutions.
  • Define supplier performance improvement actions and be accountable for realizing supplier performance optimization
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to identify the best solutions to put in place
  • Be accountable for deployment of global / regional contracts/agreements
  • Supplier management at European level 
  • Perform spot buying when required 
  • Ensure business continuity, audits support/execution and SOX compliance
  • Participate (or delegate) in transversal working groups focused on back-office process standardization, and establishment of procedures / compliance

We are looking for a person

  • You hold a master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or scientific education.
  • You have a successful track record in procurement with about 5-7 years of relevant procurement experience and people management experience. 
  • As a genuine buyer, you have problem-solving and analytical skills and good ease-facing numbers. 
  • You have a good technical knowledge of contracts’ drafting but also in project management and negotiation. 
  • You can discuss technical topics as well as implement and manage the change.
  • You combine a strong personality/leadership and communication skills 
  • You are socially engaged, make easily contact with colleagues in an international context and can develop a network within the Organisation.
  • You can discuss technical topics with users and are able to technically evaluate suppliers’ services
  • You have an appetite for finding information on innovative solutions and for market analysis. 
  • You are result- and customer-oriented, can work under deadline pressure and manage the change
  • Fluent in English; German and French will be highly valued additions
