Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
The AVP, Accounting Manager will have a key role in overseeing the Bank's day‑to‑day accounting operations, month‑end close, financial and regulatory reporting, and will drive continuous improvement in processes and controls.
DIRECT REPORTS
This position will manage a Staff Accountant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage and execute month end, quarter end, and year end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Prepare and file annual Form 571-L for all branches/departments.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly regulatory reports, including but not limited to FFIEC-009, FR-2900, FR-2644 and FR-2420.
Prepare and file quarterly and annual Census Bureau Reports (BEA).
Prepare investment accounting schedules, journal entries and reports.
Prepare dilutive shares calculation and RSU tracking.
Prepare and compile schedules for various sections of the SEC 10Q and 10K filings and Call Report, FR-Y9C and FR-YLP.
Review, approve and sign-off on certain schedules provided by other departments for regulatory and SEC reporting.
Review system interface reports, research interface differences and certify them monthly.
Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports for executive management and various committees.
Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Collaborate with cross functional teams including Deposit and Loan Operations, Marketing, IT, HR, Finance and others to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business initiatives.
Responsible for the record keeping/accounting of the subsidiaries of Bancorp and Bank.
Assist the Controller in the day-to-day operations to manage the general ledger, general ledger reconciliations and the expense reimbursement process.
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff by setting goals, managing performance, and providing ongoing training and support.
Undertake additional responsibilities and special projects assigned by the CFO, CAO and Controller.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields required.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in banking. Working knowledge of accounting procedures, reconciliations, financial and regulatory reporting and financial close and general ledger oversight. Supervisory experience required. Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
Skills/Ability: Proficiency with Oracle PeopleSoft, IBS and SAP highly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices. Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, LOOKUPs, and data analysis tools. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

$75K – $100K / yearPay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
