Overview We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support the full spectrum of HR operations, with a strong focus on Learning & Development. This role will be responsible for coordinating and administering training initiatives, supporting HR processes, and ensuring effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, the EMEA Hub, and external training providers. You will play a key role in building a structured learning culture by managing training programs, handling HRDC refund processes, coordinating YEP initiatives with the Ministry of Labour, and supporting talent development across the organisation. In parallel, you will contribute to general HR administration, employee lifecycle processes, and manage expatriate processes for candidates relocating to Mauritius. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain the annual training plan aligned with business needs and EMEA Hub priorities, including the creation and management of the training calendar. Identify training needs and build skills matrices in collaboration with managers and key stakeholders. Design, coordinate, and support the delivery of internal and external learning programs, including full training logistics (venues, trainers, materials, attendance tracking). Manage relationships with external training providers and institutions (including MQA-approved providers where applicable). Ensure proper documentation and accurate tracking of all training activities, including records, attendance, certifications, and learning data, while evaluating training effectiveness and driving continuous improvement. Handle all HRDC processes, including training grant applications, claims submissions, and follow-up for refunds. Coordinate Youth Employment Programme (YEP) processes with the Ministry of Labour, including submissions, monitoring, and claims, ensuring compliance and audit readiness for all government-related schemes. Support the design and coordination of internship and graduate programmes, including liaising with universities and training institutions to develop talent pipelines and partnerships. Provide administrative support across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation follow-up, internal transfers, and exit processes. Maintain and update employee records, HR systems, and documentation in compliance with local labour regulations, and prepare HR letters, contracts, and related documentation. Manage administrative processes related to the recruitment of expatriates relocating to Mauritius, including handling documentation and coordinating work and residence permits in liaison with relevant authorities and external partners. Promote a culture of continuous learning and employee development across the organisation. Support employee engagement initiatives related to learning and development. Contribute to employer branding initiatives linked to talent development and career growth. Qualifications Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in HR operations, Learning & Development coordination, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of L&D processes and the training lifecycle. Practical experience with HRDC refund processes and YEP schemes in Mauritius is highly preferred. Familiarity with MQA requirements and local training regulations is an asset. Good understanding of expatriate processes in Mauritius, including Occupational Permit applications and related requirements, would be a strong advantage. Strong administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and HR systems. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High level of integrity and confidentiality.
