
Pharmacy IT Technician, Full Time, Day Shift

Job Summary:
Maintains and optimizes all medication-related technology, including but not limited to, cabinets, carousel, packager, medication barcode databases, and 340B-related databases. Works with the pharmacy buyer and QA technician to complete medication-related billing duties.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Hospital pharmacy experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification: Preferred
- State or National Pharmacy Technician license: Required in HI within three months of hire
Essential Functions:
- Installs, maintains the database, coordinates moves, and optimizes the content of all automated dispensing cabinets. Adds new and troubleshoots medication barcodes.
- Maintains 340B third-party vendor databases which includes the mapping of new products, correcting incorrect maps, entering manual purchase orders and reconciling split purchase orders.
- Trains pharmacy associates on the outpatient and/or retail prescription processing systems.
- Completes billing duties and fills in as a technician as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
